This outstanding digital piano offers serious beginners as well as skilled professionals a small mountain of functions neatly wrapped in a compact and portable, lightweight design. The Casio CDP-S360 digital piano can be both mains and battery powered and has a clean and minimal control panel, free of too many buttons and controls, and fitted with a clear backlit display screen for easy on-stage menu navigation. A bank of 700 sounds ranges from pianos and organs to strings and harps, and from wind instruments to percussion, while a library of 200 different beats have been provided for accompaniment. Further features and functions include a pitch-bend wheel, duet mode, a metronome, a built-in recorder, and 152 play-along songs.

Various connection ports have been lined up along the rear of the CDP-S360. Couple it with a smartphone or tablet so music can be played back through the two built-in 8 Watt speakers or use the USB-B port to send and receive MIDI data from a computer. While the on-board system delivers excellent sound, if you do happen to need more volume, the headphone output doubles as an audio output and can be hooked up to an external amplifier.

Chordana Play for Piano: Music Maestro!

The free Casio-developed Chordana Play for Piano app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play to further expand the potential of the CDP-S360. Via this app, the digital piano can be remotely controlled using a tablet or phone; pianists can read PDF sheet music on their device and turn pages using a pedal (not included); and developing musicians can enjoy guided lessons in which the rhythm and tempo can be adjusted so students can learn at their own speed. This app offers plenty more, and since it's free, it's well worth playing with.
